Well, here we go again with The Friend Zone. You'll remember in my last post, I talked about The Nice Guy and how to move out of the Friend Zone if you find yourself in such a situation with a girl you've fallen for. But today, I'm actually going to hit on something different. Last week I stumbled upon a new site called Dudeships and found it to be quite interesting. Written by a few guys, this particular blog is adamant about the fact that guys and girls CANNOT be friends - as clearly displayed in the classic When Harry Met Sally movie back in the 80s. And to some degree, I can agree with it. Instead of being "friends" with the opposite sex, these bloggers believe there's such a thing called a "dudeship" in which they define different levels of relationships with women who are not their girlfriends.
Just a 20-something Atlanta native, trying to figure out this crazy, mixed-up world. And laughing at myself and everyone else in the process.

The Friend Zone Part 1
Everyone knows the Nice Guy, right? That guy who seems to always be the one you can call on after your boyfriend dumps you. The one who will pick up your bar tab even though there's not a shot in hell that you'd go home with him. The guy who you can totally be your worst self around and he'll still adore you. He's just so nice. He compliments you and might even shower you with gifts on your birthday. He treats your friends nicely. He's just...Nice. And in the words of Ryan Reynolds, if you're the Nice Guy, you've just become the "non-sexual entity to her and she'll never see you as more than a friend."

April Fools Day
Ugh, I hate this "holiday". And it's not even a real holiday! It's not like I get to take off work so that I can frolick with my friends and play a bunch of jokes on them all day. Nope I have to go to work, just like any other week-day and I don't like it. I'm so eager for tomorrow! I can't wait for 5:00 today! I have had the ever-so-busy morning of catching up on personal emails and facebook and twitter, followed by my daily blog reading and a little bit of "work", also known as "billing" yuck. I technically should have been done with billing yesterday but since I worked for 11 hours straight I didn't quite get around to it. But at 5:00 today, my weekend starts and I couldn't be more thrilled!

Bear Hugs: Not All They're Cracked Up To Be
(Editor's note: this may or may not offend cat lovers - don't take it personally please. Second Editor's note: yes I changed my blog template - the pink was becoming nauseating, as I'm sure some of you can agree to)
So last night had all the ingredients to make it a great night. I was planning to work out while Andy went to a networking event, then shower and go over to his place for a movie night. There are LOTS of great movies that Andy hasn't seen - and me being a movie buff thought it only appropriate that I share some of my faves with him. So 8:45 rolls around and I head over to his place - and we had talked about getting a late dinner since we were both preoccupied earlier that evening. So we go and grab some yummy mexican from El Torrero (delish!) and head back to his place. The nachos were to die for and I was quite content during dinner.
