New Year, New Me

I feel like I said this last year, but here I go again. Hopefully this year I can say "out with the old, and in with the hot semi-cleaned up mess. Yes friends, I'm going to try and clean up my act this year. And I must say that aside from the heavy drinking and poor food choices this weekend, I really may have turned over a new leaf.

New Year's Resolutions...

Well, here we are, 2010. Holy mother of God. I cannot believe that a decade ago I was ringing in the millenium with my youth group at some big youth festival at the Georgia World Congress Center, worried that we were going to run out of clean water and that our computers were all going to crash and the world as we know it might end. My how things have changed. This time of year always gets me thinking about how the previous year played out and what things I should strive to do differently/better. And I figured that this blog might serve as a good way to keep me accountable for my resolutions this year. Because there are a lot of things that happened in 2009 that I don't want to repeat in 2010. Lots of lifestyle changes to be made. I don't want to be a sour sally or a negative nancy and say that I know I'm not going to keep all of these resolutions before I've even started them. I truly want to try! And, one thing I've found, when I did a WW blog 2 years ago, is that setting mini goals is the best way to keep a resolution going. So here goes:

This New Years, I think I'll just sit at home and twiddle my thumbs...

Well, I'm back from my 4 day torture with my parents and greater family family vacation, and I'm also back at work. For today. I had quite the interesting Christmas last week: celebrating 5 days early, having a brief encounter with the law (what says happy holidays like a citation from a police officer on christmas eve morning?), working the full 3 days at work when I only planned for 2, spending a mind-numbing 7 hours in the car with my parents - each way - down to florida and back, and getting shnockered on Christmas night. And I do mean shnockered. All in all I'd say it was a "meh" Christmas. Don't get me wrong, there were some really fun parts! Like going to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie (I could look at Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr for days without getting sick of it ::swoon::), spending time with my cousins (we're almost all of age now!), getting presents, eating amazing food and drinking some of Uncle Johns Medicine. But there were some really shitty parts too. Like the citation I mentioned earlier, the lack of sleep over the entire break (we had a zoo at our house on Christmas, literally), the rain in Florida and having to work yesterday and today.
